UST coed stabbed inside FEU campus By Rey Galupo The Philippine Star Updated October 04, 2012
MANILA, Philippines - A student of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) was seriously injured after she was allegedly stabbed by a group of female students of the Far Eastern University (FEU) inside the FEU campus in Manila Tuesday night.
Police Officer 2 Aaron Cortez identified the victim as Joanne Lourdes Concepcion Reyes, 20, an Information Technology (IT) student at UST.
Investigation showed that Reyes and another companion attended a film competition at the FEU on Monday and returned the following day for an awarding ceremony.
Cortez said Reyes had just left the FEU auditorium at 6:45 p.m. when she was blocked by four to six students wearing nursing uniforms.
The suspects attacked Reyes with pepper spray before stabbing her repeatedly. She was listed in critical condition at the Chinese General Hospital.
Her unidentified companion managed to run.
Police have yet to establish the motive behind the incident.
Security guards of FEU denied there was stabbing incident inside the university’s campus in Morayta.
Police are still verifying if the suspects were students of FEU.
FEU to cooperate in probe of UST student's stabbing
03 October 2012, 9:07 p.m. - Far Eastern University (FEU) has confirmed the stabbing incident involving a Thomasian who attended a film showing at the Morayta campus Tuesday night.
In a statement on FEU's website, Albert R. Cabasada III, director of the school's Admissions and External Relations Office, said: "FEU is giving its full cooperation in the investigation, making all its resources, including on-campus CCTV (closed-circuit television) footages and access to witnesses, available to the investigating team of the Philippine National Police."
FEU said the victim, identified as UST Information Technology senior Joanne Lourdes Reyes, was in "stable condition" at the Chinese General Hospital.
An FEU student, who asked not to be identified, said that at around 6:30 p.m. of Oct. 2, a female student came rushing to their class telling the professor that a girl had been stabbed.
All of them panicked and came out, the student said.
Reyes was seen bleeding profusely at the third floor of FEU’s Science Building.
The FEU student affairs and security offices immediately attended to Reyes and brought her to the Chinese General Hospital.
Various reports said four to six persons wearing nursing uniforms attacked Reyes and her companion with pepper spray, before stabbing Reyes. Prior to the incident, two men wearing civilian clothes were seen roaming around the area, the FEU student said.
The class was later asked to view CCTV recordings.
“Lahat kasi sila naka-civilian clothes kaya hindi malaman kung saang school sila galing,” the student told the Varsitarian.
UST security chief Joseph Badinas said several angles were being pursued by investigators, such as "fraternity wars."
The FEU student also said tighter security has been implemented in the Morayta campus following the incident, with security guards doing extensive inspections. With reports from C.M.T.G.V. and R.D.M.

^ Thank God, nothing of that sort had happen yet, Thomasians certainly are not that barbaric, attack someone mercilessly inside the campus. Kahit na nung time namin na uso ang mga rumbles, pinapasok/ina-atake tayo pero hindi tayo ang nanakit!
