Jeff Acala and Ninna Bonsol of the University of Sto. Tomas was declared the winner of Eat Bulaga’s Pinoy Henyo: Intercollegiate Edition during the grand finals that was held on June 23.
Jeff and Ninna got 7 out of 10 words even before their 3 minutes ran out.
They were the only ones who guessed that much words correctly. The second place, National College of Business and Arts, only got 5 correct words, while Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig, placing third, only got 4.
Jeff and Ninna won Php 400,000 in cash and a MacBook Pro laptop for each of them. They were both calm throughout the game, which I guess was the reason for their win.
Jeff is a Communication Arts student whle Ninna is taking up Legal Management in UST. In a short speech after their win, they thanked God, their families, school and their respective organizations for supporting them from the start.
Other schools who made it to the finals were Laguna State Polytechnic University (3 pts.), University of the East (2 pts.), Polytechnic University of the Philippines (1 pt.) and Central Colleges of the Philippines (1 pt.).

UST students are 'Grand Champions' on Eat Bulaga's "Pinoy Henyo" InterCollegiate Edition
Among the 8 grand finalists, it's UST's Jeff Acala, a Comm. Arts student, and Ninna Bonsol, a student of Legal Management, who got the highest correct words: 7 out of 10 "henyo" words within the given time period of 3 minutes.
Jeff and Nina's 7 correct words were: "Butong Pakwan", "Sausage", "Libya", "Laing", "Austria", "Marinduque" and "Peanut". They're the only ones who correctly guessed "Peanut" and the fastest to get 1 correct word, at only 20 seconds when they got "Butong Pakwan" which the other finalists found too difficult.
The other 3 words that the students from UST failed to guess were: "Aurora Boulevard", "Bali" and "Puto Bumbong".
No one was able to guess "Aurora Boulevard". The students from the National College of Business and Arts (NCBA), who finished in 2nd place with 5 out of 10, were the only contestants who got the word "Puto Bumbong", while Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) was the sole team who guessed "Bali", their only correct word out of 10.
It was just funny that the finalist from the University of the East (UE) thought that Bali, a famous Indonesian province and island, is located in the Philippines, somewhere in the Visayas. The Thomasian student also got confused over Kuala Lumpur as a place in Indonesia (and not in Malaysia) while they were guessing "Bali".
As grand winners, Jeff and Ninna won P400,000 cash, two MacBook Pro laptops and a Pinoy Henyo trophy.
